Day 1

Arrive Agratala Local Tour

Arrive Agratala, by air from Kolkata, Guwahati or Imphal. Met by Car+ driver + guide Transfer to hotel.The Municipal Administration in Agartala was established in 1874 A.D by the then Maharaja Bir Bikra Manikya Bahadur in 1940s. This erstwhile Princely State Capital of Tripura merged with India on 15th October 1949. The city has become the nerve center of all political, administrative, cultural and commercial activities of the state.
The climate of Agartala is of tropical monsoon type, with high humidity. The average annual rainfall is around 220 centimeters (cm). The average no of rainy days is 100 days. The temperature varies from 4.2°C to 37.6°C on the average. The best time to travel is in the winter from from November to February.In November Temperature range: 14-28°C.
Time permitting take a local tour visiting Ujjayanta Palace, the State Museumand the Purbasa Handicraft Centre. Visitors can watch the craft persons at work and do some shopping. For local weaves, browse through the stalls on Akhaura Road in Agartala. You can pick up great bamboo mats and baskets, even silk place mats. Shankar on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road in Agartala specialises in Bengali food with a Tripuri twist.
Try ala paturi, a fish delicacy prepared by marinating fresh fish in mustard and wrapping it in banana leaves before it is steamed. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 2

Agartala - Kamala Sagar – Udaipur - Rudrasagar Lake

Drive 35 Kms in 45 minutes to Kamalasagar- A vast lake on the edge of the border with Bangladesh was excavated by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 15th century. A Kaliu temple located ther dates back to 16th century.Continue to Udaipur 49 Kms in one hour.
Udaipur is also known as “lake city” and has many beautiful lakes. Some of them are Jagannath dighi, Amar sagar and, Kalyan sagarUdaipur is dotted with temples Tripura Sundari temple, dating to 1501.This temple is one of the 51 holiest ‘Shaktipeeths’ (Shrine of the goddess of power ).
The famous Kalayan Sagar Lake lies close by. Bhubaneshwari Temple is another well known temple . We will visit the Tripura Sundar1 Temple and Kalayan Sagar Lake. To end the day drive another 22 Kms in 30 mins, to Melaghar to visit Rudrasagar lake, which has the Lake Palace of Tripura, located in the middle of the lake., named Neermahal. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya built the palace in 1930 as his summer residence being inspired by Mughal Style of architecture.
The lake is home to a large number of migratory birds every winter. Overnight at Agartala.

Day 3

Rudrasagar - Sepahijala Wild life Sanctuary- Tepania Eco Park- Agartala

Visit Sepahijala Wild Life Sanctuary and Tepania Eco Park enroute from Melaghar to Agratala.Sepahijala wildlife sanctuary. More than 150 species of residential birds, migratory birds, orchid garden, boating facilities, wild life, botanical garden, zoo, elephant joy-rides, rubber and coffee plantations are on view.
The rare spectacled monkey can be seen. Tepania Eco Park: Tepania Eco Park has orchidarium, cactus house, tree house, Hanging Bridge, watch tower It is home to the Capped Languor, red jungle fowl, hares and more. Return to Agartala to explore the town and overnight at your hotel at Agartala

Day 4

Agartala - Khumlwng eco Park - Baramura Eco Park - Unakoti - Kailashahar

Drive Agartala to Unakoti 174 Kms in about 3 hrs. Enroute stop over at Khumulwng Eco Park and Baramura EcoParkKhumlwng means valley of flowers. The park has a very spacious garden along with a natural water body with boating facilities.The Baramura Eco Park is completely covered by forests and different types of trees, flowers, and orchids. The focus of todays visit is Unakoti hill; which is home to an ancient Shaivite place of worship with huge rock-cut images and stone idols of Lord Shiva. On the hilly terrain many idols of gods and goddess are lying scattered. According to the archaeological department, the Shiva idols of Unakoti date back to the 8th or 9th century. As a place of archaeological wonder; Unakoti is unparalleled. Unrecorded in history, a mystery surrounds Unakoti which fascinates visitors. While the rock carvings, murals with their primitive beauty form the chief attraction, natural beauty including mountain scenery and waterfalls are an added bonus.To end todays fascinating drive, we will head for the tourist lodge located 8 Kms away at Kialashahar for overnight.

Day 5

Kialashahar - Vangmun (Jampui Hills)

Drive from Kialashahar to Vangmun, via Kumarghat 95 Kms in 02 hrs.The Jampui is the highest hill range in Tripura. It borders Mizoram and the people are ethnically Mizos. The natural beauty, the pleasant weather, various species of trees, orchids and orange gardens, hospitable people and rich cultural heritage are the main attractions.
The views of rising and setting sun are sights to remember. The hill range has 11 villages inhabited by Mizo (Lushai tribes) and Reang tribes. The main occupation of the villagers is orange cultivation. Overnight at Jampui Hills

Day 6

Vangmun (Jampui Hills)

Explore Lushai and Reang tribal villages in Jampui Hills. Drive up to the Betlingchip watch tower on the Jampui Hills. At 1055 m, it offers a paroramic view of the dramatic sweep of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Kanchanpur-Dasda valley and the other hill ranges of Tripura and Mizoram You can also do a soft trek.
